Aaahhh! What a joy! The day of the year when all I have to do is BE. I don't even have to shop for anything cause that's done for me. It's funny though, I like getting gifts don't get me wrong but the gift I enjoyed the most was a flower pot my daughter made for me when she was in grade school. Knowing that it was her little hands that made it and knowing it was so important that she brought it to me in one piece makes it even more precious! She may rag on me for keeping pens and pencils in it, (Not a plant) but I don't think she took the time to realize I STILL HAVE IT and it's more precious to me than gold. And I swear to you if she keeps talking about it I am going to remind her exactly what grade she was in when she made it! Now on to shopping! I saw quite a few new items today. Let's go check them out!

"What Goes Around Comes Around'
The print ads feature solemn faces with multiple scratches and wounds.
Presumably, the wounds are the result of their karma coming around and their abused dogs fighting back and taking revenge.
The campaign was created by Savaglio\TBWA Advertising Agency, Buenos Aires.
For those individuals who don't believe it, Karma will get you when nothing else will. DO NOT TREAT YOUR PET OR ANY OTHER THING LIKE YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO BE TREATED, IT'S PLAIN AND

Your Imagination Is Key

"You already have everything you could ever need or want in this life. Everything that you see you can create. So use your mind to create new thoughts, dream bigger dreams, reach heights that no one else never has before you, and if you're real good, no one will after you."---truthis Do you, and while you're doing you, make sure you wind up being your own competition.
I had a friend of mine ask me, "Why do I think so out of the box?" How do I come up with some of my ideals? I just gave a laugh and said "I've been doing it so long, I guess it just comes from that part of me that was about 5 years old, that recognized that I was an individual connected to something
bigger than me."
Your imagination is the key to everything. See these to-die-for dresses by Christian Lacroix and Alberta Ferretti? I mean these are some drop-dead-gorgeous dresses! No doubt about that. There are a couple of ways I can go about it. I can inquire at the respective designers and if I like the price I could just go ahead and buy them. Or if their price is too high for me I could always go to someone and have a dress made inspired by these photographs. (Not expensive at all if you know what you're doing) Or if I feel like it I can just make the dresses my self. Being the determined being that I am, I know that I'll be either I'll be wearing Christian Lacroix and Alberta Ferretti this summer or I'll be wearing something inspired by them.
What's it worth to you? That's the question you've got to ask yourself not just with fashion with EVERYTHING. Are my interest geared toward solving the world's aids problem or are they more inclined towards becoming a business exec? Because what you want, wants you equally as strong. Study the best of the best in your particular area. Then be the best in your particular area. You will begin to see opportunities and inspiration coming to you from all different directions. If it is really what you want to do, then run towards it so it can start to show up in your life and when the two of you get together I want you to obliterate the finish line. Go ahead and get your dream! I want nothing more than to see you truly happy, loving what you do, not for the money, but for the sheer enjoyment of it. Believe me when I tell you if you truly love what you are doing the money
will show up! Your dream is waiting for you.Posted by truthis at 11:34 AM 0 comments

Here Comes The Bride
Apparently I missed the boat on this one...
I'm not one for celebrity gossip but I heard today that as of late, Gisele has been sporting a nice ring on her left ring finger. Reports also claim that the well known Victorias Secret model has been running around telling people "He got it from Tiffany's!" {what about Bridget} B&B are set to marry later on this year in a private ceremony. Considering Bundchen's list of modeling credits, who do you think she will choose her dress from? A source said: "...She's looking at designs by Chanel and Dior." I can't wait to see it...
Looks like it's going to be one heck of a year for Gisele considering that she might star in the latest Austin Powers movie. {I know you're wondering how this is possible} She has Taxi and The Devil Wears Prada to her acting credits.

WTF!?!?! Is Up With This Cat
ARRRGGGGHHHH!!! I really can't take it anymore! I have been plagued by this cat since high school. I have three best friends clinically, OCD type obsessed with Hello Kitty. Everywhere I go in their rooms/ houses I see piles of Hello Kitty. It's a bit scary to think about it. Fully functional grown women obsessed with a white cat with a yellow nose that wears a pink bow and dress. I don't even think I have heard that cat talk on it's TV show for crying out loud {ok, maybe I didn't want to hear it speak}. So you all don't think that I have finally lost it, I am not the only one that feels this way. At any rate, I would like to dedicate this blog to my friends that are obsessed with this horrible pigment of my nightmares...

OMFG!!!! Gossip Girl
Spotted: Highly risque promotional editorials featuring Manhattans finest group of teens from the Upper East Side in the heat of a passionate moment. Don't let your parents get a hold of this one...
xoxo Gossip Girl
Seriously, I've always wanted to do that. {Kristen Bell, I'm coming for you} Getting to the point of things, the CW Network has recently started running a print campaign, as well as televised, in anticipation of the coveted show's return on April 21st. The OMFG {Oh My F**king God} is the R-rated version and is currently running in Us Weekly magazine.
However, don't fret, one of the TV campaigns are PG-13 and say OMG, rather than OMFG. {same meaning, just remove the f**king} While the alternate coincides with the print OMFG ads and focuses on the most intimate details. See it here.
The CW network has issued a statement in anticipation of a possible backlash:
“We wanted to create a provocative campaign that stands out from the competition and reminds viewers of some of the OMG moments that have made ‘Gossip Girl’ one of the most buzzed about new shows on television. This sexy, sophisticated campaign speaks directly to our adult 18-34 viewers, using expressions that are part of their lexicon.”

If I Were King

"Can I just say how much I l.o.v.e. Diddy {Sean "Diddy" Combs}. I love him for the way he continues to reinvent himself year after year, to make sure that he is his own hottest commodity. I love how for all of his arrogance, you still see that journalism student at Howard University fighting for that one chance, that one day when the world will see him shine. This is why I love Diddy. This is why I love Sean Combs. This is why you will love Sean John." -Lexie H., FE Magazine 2008
I know my above diction to him sounds a little cliche but you have to admit, he is a force to be reckoned with. In case you missed it last Wednesday, MTV aired a documentary about Sean Diddy Combs' most recent fashion show for his Sean John empire. The documentary entitled, If I Were King aired at 10pm EST and several times since {and knowing MTV will air about 50 more times within the next 30 days}. This is a MUST SEE in the world of fashion. It takes you through all the stages involved in designing, bringing paper characters to dress form {the mannequin often seen donning a designers work} and finally to the runway. In the documentary, you will see Diddy often refer to the truth in fashion and see him in the designing phases. And as always you see his temper flare and not for the satisfaction of an ego but for thirst quenching perfection. The documentary also takes on such issues as the lack of African Americans on the fashion runways. Below is a little teaser of the documentary. You can view If I Were King in its entirety on MTV.com

Stylish Little Bags
Mother's Day is coming up (aahemm!) and you know handbags are a definite "do" for me. I was looking through some things that I had stored away the other day and I saw this round, large (about a big as a dinner platter) straw, handbag, with leather handles on it. It's beautifully made and I don't know how much my grandmother paid for it or even who made the bag, but it would go for a pretty penny today! So it is in the tradition of that straw bag that I found that I bring to you today's bag's. Updated but still very chic and stylish. So here's to you Grandma, the woman that gave me her style as well as the ability to love.
This one will set you back a bit but just remember the styles are always repeated in a much more affordable way elsewhere. This bag is available at Christian Dior, and e-luxury.
Now you know in true shopper style, I just had to bring your attention to the following bags. It wouldn't be like me if I didn't. This Christian Louboutin "Small Satin Chain Bowler" stopped me in my tracks. Now, for me, that's a bag! It kind of reminds me of the change purses I used to see when I was growing up. Be honest this bags reminds you of your Grandmother too---in a good way! Available at Christian Louboutin, Nordstrom, and e-luxury.
This little bag is by Goldenblue. It's called their "Audra Patent Clutch."
Another one that reminds of Grandma and all the other ladies I knew way back when. It has a Patent leather with contrast quilted embroidery, polished gold metal hardware, link chain shoulder strap, removable coin pouch on front; attaches to bag with four snap closures, frame top with kiss-lock closure, suede lining, golden nameplate and dangling key clasp inside. It just takes me back! In a good way. It is available at e-luxury.
This whole experience just goes to show you to that you should never throw anything having to do with style and fashion out, you never know when it's going to come back or in what interpertation. Style just repeats itself in different interpretations at different seasons. If you get well made pieces they will be around for future generations to enjoy.
