Yeah!, My Ankle's Gone Down

You know how I nearly got hooked on Vicodin & Tylenol and had to pop anti inflammatories like they were candy? Well let me say that I had a big ole brain fart because I just said forget it all. The pharmaceuticals weren't doing me any good. I mean I'd take the vicodin and the anti-inflammatory and basically I wound up high with a little bit of relief. Then I said I was going to go to Dr. Schulze (A Natropath) and see what he suggested. Well on my way I found out about these foot patches called Herbal Patches Plus. Being curious, I decided to spend some time on the website and eventually decided to order. I was thinking I could use whatever herbal soak I learned of by night and the patch by day. Then I remembered hearing something about foot patches not working, I think it may have been on a news magazine or something, but I decided to give this a try anyway. Reading the website, I was being educated on why my ankle might be swollen, reflexology, frankly speaking I just wanted something that worked! I tried them and they worked. Today, I can say that I'm so glad I did because I really don't think I could've gone on another 2 weeks like that. I'm near 100% now so I'll be shopping for shoes, boots and whatever else. Thank you all for being so patient with me and if you hear of someone with swollen limbs, you can tell them about Herbal Patches Plus, a tip straight from me to you.

Technical F@%&ing Issues!!!

I normally don't use my blog for rants and raves of my daily life, but this is a tad ridiculous. First, I would like to apologize for my absence from the blogosphere lately. My computers have been totally f'd up! It all started with a virus on my personal computer about a week ago {which took another week to get fixed}. Everything on my personal laptop was hard to work with. They said that the virus pretty much messed up anything that used JavaScript- just so you all know, JavaScript affects damn near everything on your PC- so I was unable to pull up certain areas of webpages, let alone my blog or email {thank GOD for Blackberry}. Then Sunday rolls around and I'm excited because I can post normally again. And then, the internet goes out! {At this point, you can predict that I was pulling my hair out} I call our interent provider and we try to fix it to no avail. Then I wake up Monday and discuss things with another rep and we finally get it fixed late Monday. Oh and now it's Tuesday morning and I just got a phone call that my best friend's labor has to be induced {literally just got the phone call while typing this isht}... I will be back my loves.

Retail Theraphy

The ankle saga goes on...and on...and on. In a minute I'm going to literally hop on a plane, go to Tibet, hire a Spiritual Master so I can heal all that may me bugging the heck out of me including my ankle. I wish I could relate the explanation that my doctor gave me. It was quite hilarious because when she got through talking I said, "In other words, you don't know what the heck is wrong with my ankle." To which she replied a simple, "Yes." Thus she added to my neat little collection of anti-inflammatories and Tylenol 300s and Vicodin. Now I'm going to go Dr. Schulze's website, ask him a few questions, list all of my symptoms and walla---he'll be able to direct me in what to do. Which is what I should have done in the first place. While I'm at it I'm going to ask him what I need to do to flush all this Tylenol, Anti-inflammatories, and Vicodin out of my system. Because while it was a nice little trip from reality, it didn't do anything for my ankle! In the meantime, for the sake of not getting me started on Doctors, I'll just continue to ride this one out and prescribe some retail therapy for myself. Starting with shoes of course. Go to: Casadei and Gina they are providing my much needed session. "See Doc, I was thinking about these Boots by Gina when all of a sudden I saw these pumps by Casadei,"momentarily all the pain will go away, now Gina, and Casadei---that's what I call some serious therapy.
Please bear with me, I'll be back to my regular self soon!

It's A Thief In The Night To Come And Grab You...

As I mentioned earlier this week, the world was anxiously anticipating the arrival of Rihanna's video of her Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded album entitled "Disturbia." The video is finally here and as from the pictures I featured earlier, you can tell the video is very dark. Upon viewing the video, you take a walk into a creepy four minute thriller in which RiRi dons an orange wig and white contacts all the way to a black blazer with a Victorian fan. Oh and of course you get to see her go crazy as she is locked in a cramped room while shackled in a chair. The video reminds me of Thirteen Ghosts, as well as other thrillers. Take a look below:

Roberto Cavalli

According to a press release, for all you fashionistas, the first Cavalli Club is scheduled to open in November 2008 in Dubai, within Fairmont Hotel, located in the heart of the city on Shaikh Zayed Road. The club will feature two floors and a total surface area of 2500 square metres, with its own private entrance independent from the hotel.
Roberto Cavalli chose the Pragma Group as his partner for this important undertaking. He says, “Dubai is a city of the future and the Cavalli Club is a futuristic space created with the whole world in mind. Dubai definitely reflects the third millennium that has just started, and that will continue by proposing new expressions that can change the habits of the world. Living against monotony, with the enjoyment of music, of good food, of pleasant company: this is the Cavalli Club philosophy, and Dubai is opening the windows of tomorrow onto this project.” The architecture, furnishings, and the interiors selected effuse luxury and exclusivity; each area in the space creates an atmosphere rich with exciting shapes, structures, and precious materials. On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to a large room showcasing jewellery, watches and the most exclusive accessories from the Cavalli Maison. This, together with a selection of refined food products chosen specially by Roberto Cavalli to express the best of ‘Made in Italy’, offers to the public a complete Roberto Cavalli lifestyle experience and a new way of shopping at a non-conventional time of day.
On the top floor, guests have several options and can choose from different gastronomical and sensorial experiences. A refined and elegant Italian restaurant is at the centre of the hall, offering unforgettable Italian culinary feats. For those opting for Japanese cuisine, the sushi bar offers a relaxed atmosphere for dining where guests can recline on sofas in front of low tables.
Parallel to the restaurant is a lounge bar that offers a chic and trendy environment for those wanting to try some exotic light food such as sushi and caviar. In this area, music plays until the early hours of the morning and guests can dance to hypnotic rhythms mixed by the best international DJs. A suspended platform will host the DJ and the dancers, as well as other entertainment and shows.
Now I'm betting that this experience and the price tag will be extraordinary, but probably well worth it.

Hello Everyone!

I've been out for about a week because I hurt my foot somehow another. One day it just swole up on me. Big as a football! I was definitely in panic mode. And not pretty at all for my shoes! I went to one hospital and the doctor did a thorough exam (I thought he was going to ask for my firstborn child, which in my case- is my only born child!---we would've had to fight!) Any way to show you how ridiculous I can be at times, I was looking at their hospital garb and really noticing how it could really use a makeover, and I could do it within a budget too! The patient gowns, "Are they serious, they are still hideous! I mean I know you go to the emergency room because you are ill but can we get some garments that don't add to our illnesses? Now they did treat me with excellent care, got me in and out of there in no time at all. They gave me two prescriptions one for ibuprofen and another for Tylenol 300 and to show you how long it has been since I've taken any type of prescription medicine it was no time at all until I was flying as high as a kite! Oh, of course my daughter had a good laugh off that one, little mom can't even handle the Tylenol 3oo's. No I can't, and I'm proud of it too! I was soooo tempted to do something out of character, (opportunities just kept presenting themselves---but I behaved myself.) Besides I was in PAIN, THE KIND ONLY SECOND TO CHILDBIRTH! So the next day while trying to make an appointment at my doctors office which I won't get into until tomorrow (this Wednesday) the drama just continued. Now I know it's not my salt intake, I eat as close to nature as possible, it's not gout--don't drink, don't remember twisting my ankle, been doing epsom salt foot baths--only works for a couple of hours, the doctor said it wasn't fractured or broken. He did however say it may be some inflammation in there. All I know is whatever it is I want it out! By the way, it may please my daughter to know that I at least graduated from the Tylenol 300's to Vicodin 500mg now I'm really spaced out because I don't feel any pain and ANYTHING ELSE EITHER I'll be back full-fledged and real soon when we get to the bottom of this mystery! Until then take care.

Them Pesky Little Bugs!

Have you ever gone to an outdoor affair and everything was perfect but then you noticed a little red dot on your arm and you started scratching it and then you realize that you just had a perfect evening ruined by a little mosquito and all his little buddies? Ohhhh! I can't stand them! Every time I hear their little buzzing in my ear I want to do something to overkill them! And how can you have party outside in the middle of summer and not at least have something to help keep the pesky buggers away? Uuuuhhhh! So please do not subject your guest to the mosquito's or any other bugs that may be lurking in the dark. I'll leave you with a very good suggestion that will get rid of them every time. You don't have to worry about lighting torches, or anything else for that matter.

You can get it from the good folks at Mosquito Barrier. Get this or something don't just bring together a smorgish board of people and let the mosquito's feast! Names will be withheld to protect the innocent(guilty).

On The Campaign Trail: Vivienne Westwood

Dame Vivienne Westwood definitely showed out with her band of misfits for her various ad campaigns for Fall 2008. Enjoy

Nanette Lapore

Let me tell you why I love Nanette Lapore. First off she was born knowing what she wanted to do and she held on to that. It is so important for parents to listen to their children, and observe them at play, and in all situations, because this "watching" of your children will lead to what they are suppose to do in life. We should be taking our cues from children as to what it is that they want to do in life because their purposes are all different and KNOWN ONLY TO THEM. It's not for everyone to go into "the family business, or become a doctor or a lawyer." Each person has within themselves a deep knowing of the what's and the why's, when's and where's of life. Children know exactly what it is they are sent here to do and if we "conditioned adults" step aside we'd begin to see more "Genius" in society as a whole. Like Nanette's parents, I wish that more people would wake up and really start to NURTURE their children more. That being said, I applaud Nanette's parents for recognizing that it was their job to NURTURE her. I applaud Nanette for the true talent that she is. She is the kind of talent that takes your breath away because when you see it in all its fullness you know at that point in time there is truly something bigger at work here, something Divine. In an age when everyone seems to be picking a niche and sticking to it, out of this one focused mind came fragrance, clothes and shoes. I say your name, Nanette, may you continue to be blessed even more today than you were yesterday.

And there you have some of it, Nanette Lapore. I've got feeling you're going to be hearing her name so much more. And for good reason. It is so good to see someone that is as blessed naturally with talent as she is.

"Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible - the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family."---Virginia Satir

Some Of My Favorite Couture Outer Wear Looks For Fall 2008

I was thinking about who had designed the best looks for this fall and I really couldn't make up my mind exactly who. So then I started to ponder who it was that gave me the best looks and I decided to put them all together. You know what I still can't decide. I would say that they are equally talented but then that would be like someone giving me an onion when I specifically asked for an orange. Needless to say it was a futile effort a on my behalf. But I do know what I like, so here it goes: my likes for the Fall 2008 Couture Season.

This is none other than Karl Lagerfeld for Channel---Fall Couture 2008

A little bit of Fantasy from Christian Dior's Fall Couture Collection 2008

From Anne Valerie Hash's Fall Couture Collection 2008

From Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall Couture Collection 2008

Armani Prive Fall Couture Collection 2008

From Givenchy's Fall Couture Collection 2008

See all this to choose from. Can you decide? I'll just agree to respectfully decline to say who exactly is the best. I will however say that they keep getting better with time.
