Luggage

Thinkin' about takin' a vacation? I'm waaayyy overdue for one. Why do they call them vacations anyway? Why not call the ESCAPES. Seriously I NEED, not just want, an escape. No Blackberry, nobody I know, ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY, no thinkin' about anything for a good 2 weeks (or more). Seriously, on some near deserted island, and I don't even want the fish to swim to loud! So I am picking out luggage because I'm going to make my escape real soon.

Whaaattt??? I didn't even know that Samosonite had stepped their game up this far. But then again I really wasn't keeping score. Samsonite made me pay attention with this "Fashionaire Collection," from the Samsonite Black Label. There's the shopping bag, the suitcase and the overnight case.
After the success of 2006's Signat Attaché re-edition, creative director Quentin Mackay set his sights on the definitive range of luggage from the 1960s; Fashionaire. Defined at the time as 'individual fashion', Fashionaire was one of the hottest travel collections of that decade, meaning that for the first time, luggage could also be fashionable, as well as functional.
Today, the re-interpretation of this 60s collection is a celebration of the flower-power generation made fresh for the 21st Century in a range of vintage styles and thoroughly modern shapes for the fashionable world traveler. The 2007 introduction is a limited edition release available in the original iconic black-on-white floral print, as well as a contemporary update in white-on-black. All the bags have the orange interior to them. It really makes them pop!
Their Wheeled Upright is functional yet fashionable. With only 600 wheeled uprights made, this piece is sure to become a collector's item. This modern interpretation of the 1960s collection bears the modern conveniences of wheels, push button locking handle and a TSA combination lock. Bold, tone-on-tone orange lining adds even more pop to this piece. And it's still available at Samsonite Black Label.
American Tourister has some pieces worth investigating. You know I'm still in Love with anything Louis Vuitton when it comes to luggage. His luggage is first class!

Gypsies, Tramps & Theives

I swear I hear that song in my head every single time I hear, or see, or smell, or relayed a message about something pertaining to Heidi from "The Hills." But here's the difference, you toss Spencer into that equation and... Well let's just say that there is no language on the face of this earth that has cultivated the words I need to describe him. So imagine my shock when I opened my AOL only to see his very cheesy face glaring back at me from a Getty Images photo. Apparently, people loathe Spencer so much until the point where he made the Top Ten list of AOL's most searched reality celebs. {OMFG, WHY!?!?!} People let's not search for him because if we do, that only makes him think that we want him around more. And if he's around more, he'll continue taxiing Heidi around from shop to shop playing her song in his car, just so people will hear that she sings just as well {meaning HORRIBLY bad} as she designs clothing. Ok, well maybe I am being too harsh on them. I mean people love them enough to watch them in a Newlyweds-esque show upon the demise of "The Hills," right?

**We're asking our readers to sound off... Do you love or loathe Spencer, Heidi or both?

Gone To The Dogs

I must admit I have turned into a proud parent these days. Considering that Hollywood celebs {and everyone else I know} have recently brought new meaning to the words "Baby Boom" I figured I should actually start showing some pride of my own. Sadly, I am not talking about the joy of carrying a child, rather that of getting a puppy. {I can hear the spinster comments coming} It took me months to figure out the type of dog I wanted to follow up my beloved toy poodle Tasha with and I finally settled on a Doberman. Now, the mother is pregnant and I can't wait for her to give birth to my baby. {ok, her baby but it will be mine soon} I've even gone to the lengths of trying to plan a puppy shower. {one that my friends have expressed they would not condone my insanity} I guess it's true then, my life really has gone to the dogs.

Shop Your Favorite Magazine Spread

Remember those shoes that you saw in Harper's Bazaar two months ago that would have been great for that number you wore to dinner, but you searched endlessly for them to no avail? How about the time you read that spread in Vogue that saw the perfect dress to wear to your friends wedding? Well a few of my favorite online boutiques are making it a little easier to shop your favorite magazine spreads. {and big sigh of relief.... NOW} With the world housing more fashion designers than you can remember and just as many accessory designers, it can be hard to navigate your favorite articles in Vogue & NYLON in the "Where To Buy" sections just to find out that the item is sold out or was never there in the first place. Well if you have Internet access {and a working computer} that dress and those shoes just might be one mouse click away. Besides, let's face it, not all of us can sit front row at fashion week and then go back stage to chit chat with Donetella, then she send us our very own version of the runway dress a week later. {Now, if I could only get the stylists at Gossip Girl to do the same thing with their wardrobe}

Browns Fashion
{They've managed to put together these colorful spreads that look like they were ripped right from the pages of Harper's Bazaar}

Net-A-Porter
{Net-A-Porter has always been one step ahead of the game. They decided to actually produce a weekly magazine called Notes, seen above, to showcase all of the looks they have from the runway and regular RTW collections in addition to doling out latest trends and tips}

Bright Duffel Bags and Satchels Hot This Spring - Fergie Promotes Kipling Bags

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has joined Belgian brand Kipling for a second time to promote a new Spring collection of totes, duffel bags and satchels that “express Fergie’s subversive style” says TopModelsGuide.com.
The bags are made of bright patent leather with multicolor kaleidoscopic neon prints. It is quite an ensemble. I like the wine and black patent leather bag and accompanying tote. Available at: Kipling-USA.com.

Mother's Day iPod

Apple is offering customized iPods for Mother’s day! In an era of personalization and more ad-hoc products, Apple started to leverage on an asset that would seem pretty common but that very frew brands are allowed to do: offer product customization.
Some other brands (e.g. Nike, Smirnoff, Absolut, etc.) have been doing this in some of their campaigns, howeve,r none of those brands have a product that is on a day-to-day basis like an iPod. Now Mom can have her own version with a personalized tribute to her on it.

GG Central

As we mentioned last week that the CW has decided to stop online streaming of GG in order to give a mass exodus from laptop to Flatscreen TV in order to boost the networks ever-tanking ratings and we are one of the only places giving you a in detail recap of each show until the season finale. So stay tuned to our blog for the latest recap information from Gossip Girl on Tuesday Morning.

Dress Of The Day

Our dress of the day comes from none other than 3.1 Phillip Lim's Spring collection. This is a perfect mint green Grecian styled dress. Although I have never been a big fan of mint green Lim pulls it off in this creation. I would wear this dress to about ten events before I would let it go. It's so pretty.

Five bucks says that someone will wear this one out on the red carpet to a premiere. Only question is who will it be? {My money is on J. Lo, she loves this style}
