Cesare Paciotti to reopen Madison Ave boutique with charitable bash

Cesare Paciotti has revamped and redesigned his Madison Avenue boutique, so what better way to celebrate than with (ahem) a cocktail party? On October 16, the luxe new 2,000 square foot flagship will reopen. Inspired by the interior of a jewelry box, it will feature translucent white crystalline marble flooring, a mirrored ceiling framed with a baroque border, and custom-made LED illuminated glass display cases. "It's a new beginning for Cesare Paciotti in the U.S.," said a spokesperson for the brand, "and this renovation and change of layout concept marks a rebirth of the brand."

The boutique, which will serve as design models for all future Cesare Paciotti boutiques along with the recently renovated London store, will carry both men's and women's shoes along with handbags, small leather accessories, eyewear, and jewelry. But though the trademark dagger motif might seem a bit aggressive, not to worry-the designer has a softer side as well. The opening party, which will be hosted by Mary Alice Stephenson, Annabel Tollman, Lucy Sykes, Amanda Ross and Barbara Wilhelm Dwek, will benefit nonprofit organization Free Arts NYC.

Diesel's Dirty Thirty

Brand to release limited edition jeans just in time for their anniversary bash

We've been anxiously awaiting Diesel's "Dirty Thirty" anniversary bash for quite awhile, and given its imminent arrival, only one question remains--what to wear? Diesel's taken care of that, too. On Friday, limited-edition $50 jeans will be going on sale at Diesel stores nationwide. Expect a frenzy of shoppers trying to take advantage of the chic steal; the Dirty Thirty jeans will feature a back patch embroidered with "xXx," side embroidery with the dates 1978-2008, and customized buttons with "Diesel 1978."

As for Saturday's fête? Diesel's 24-hour global party will end with an epic bash in New York. The Rock and Roll Circus-themed party, held on Pier 3 on the Brooklyn Waterfront, will feature music by Benji and Joel Madden, Chaka Kahn, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, M.I.A., and N.E.R.D. Everyone from models Agyness Deyn and Chanel Iman, to Gossip Girl stars Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, and Taylor Momsen, to socials Lauren Santo Domingo and the Traina sisters are expected to show.

Retail Stocks Took A Beating!

Not trying to scare anyone, but retail stocks took a beating this morning, falling more than 4.6% within the first half hour of trading as economic concerns and the global credit crisis persisted despite the Treasury Department’s new authority to spend up to $700 billion to bail out banks.

The Standard & Poor’s Retail Index fell 15.14 points to 316.69 by 10:20 a.m., as the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled below the 10,000 mark, falling 5.3 percent, or 545 points, to 9,780.35, after just more than an hour of activity.

The day's not over yet! So I'm just going to be an optimist and say the market still has time to correct itself.

Dresses, beautiful dresses at that. I don't even have to tell you that the Lanvin Spring 2009 Collection had me when I saw the first dress. But, then again, by now...you know to show me some nice skirts & dresses and I'm content. (nice is a understatement) For the Spring 2009 Collection it looks as if Lanvin kept it simple, elegant and sophisticated. Karl Lagerfeld's Spring 2009 Ready To Wear Collection was eclectic, innovative, and timeless. How is it possible to be all three? Well take a look for yourself. From the very first piece, the black belt which is so eclectic and frankly, I'd wear it with a lot of other things too!. Continuing on the first piece, the arm pieces, I dare not call them gloves, are suppose to give the look of a tattoo end up actually working in that they are innovative. Let's not forget the ankle accessories either. The fitted sheath dress is a definite time piece and goes without further explanation. You do indeed get the feeling that the models themselves are channeling Karl Lagerfeld. Clean crisp lines. Right down to the grey gown he presents. It's Karl at his bad boy best. No wonder all us good girls love him!
