PARIS - FALL 2009 READY TO WEAR

The Fashion Shows in Paris offer a breath of fresh air. There is no way to even compare them to what happened here. They were on their game and they brought their "A" game. Go and take a look at them at Style.com. Often, I say, you can tell who's truly in this game because their current collection is always better than the previous one. Always well thought out right down to the colors and seating in the show area. It's in Paris for goodness sake! We really didn't expect anything outside of excellence.

Versace is the King of Fashion, period. I have my favs like KL, but a Versace Show is just the Creme de la Creme. Any time I can learn from a show, not just the particular textiles, accessories, and colors but the different little nuances that go into a show and the pieces, I'm in heaven!

I had a friend of mine ask me, "Why do I think so out of the box?" How do I come up with some of my ideals? I just gave a laugh and said "I've been doing it so long, I guess it just comes from that part of me that was about 5 years old, that recognized that I was an individual connected to something bigger than me."

I was really forced to stop and think about her question when I had a few moments alone. It was right at that moment my daughter kept bugging me about watching this documentary about the making of Sean Comb's latest clothing line. I finished up what I was doing and gave her my undivided attention for the next 90 minutes...that's how my miracle was experienced yesterday. I found a whole new level of respect for Sean Combs (see article in this blog) and I was able to reconcile that question of "Why I think so out of the box." Again, I say ALL THE TIME, 24/7 MY LIFE IS FULL OF MIRACLES.

Your imagination is the key to everything. See these to-die-for dresses by Christian Lacroix and Alberta Ferretti? I mean these are some drop-dead-gorgeous dresses! No doubt about that. There are a couple of ways I can go about it. I can inquire at the respective designers and if I like the price I could just go ahead and buy them. Or if their price is too high for me I could always go to someone and have a dress made inspired by these photographs. (Not expensive at all if you know what you're doing) Or if I feel like it I can just make the dresses my self. Being the determined being that I am, I know that I'll be either I'll be wearing Christian Lacroix and Alberta Ferretti this summer or I'll be wearing something inspired by them.

What's it worth to you? That's the question you've got to ask yourself not just with fashion with EVERYTHING. Are my interest geared toward solving the world's aids problem or are they more inclined towards becoming a business exec? Because what you want, wants you equally as strong. Study the best of the best in your particular area. Then be the best in your particular area. You will begin to see opportunities and inspiration coming to you from all different directions. If it is really what you want to do, then run towards it so it can start to show up in your life and when the two of you get together I want you to obliterate the finish line. Go ahead and get your dream! I want nothing more than to see you truly happy, loving what you do, not for the money, but for the sheer enjoyment of it. Believe me when I tell you if you truly love what you are doing the money will show up! Your dream is waiting for you.
