Madame Carla Bruni-Sarkozy sat down with and up close and candid interview with Barbara Walters that aired on Friday August 1st. Not everyone was able to or wanted to skip that date and catch the interview. For those of you that have been hiding under a rock, Carla Bruni recently married France's President Sarkozy after three months of a whirlwind romance. Then if that weren't enough, she took The Queen and London by storm when she sat in with the royals decked out in one of the most fabulous Prada-designed wardrobe's I've seen in the 21st century. Bruni who makes no qualms about her past {which includes the likes of Mick Jagger} mentions that "it was love at first sight" when she met Nicolas Sarkozy. You can view the full interview and watch video clips here.

YOU WANNA BE ON TOP?!?! {Dooo-dooo dooo-ooop}
Due to my most recent obsession with Gossip Girl and a slew of other shows that just aren't compatible with one another, I have slacked on my rantings and ravings about ANTM. Honestly, I've only seen four of this cycle's episodes which include two from the very beginning, one from the middle before they went overseas and tonight's {last night's} finale. However, I always get a little emotional because it marks the end and then it's one less thing me and my friends have to debate about next week. Now, from the beginning I was rooting for Dominique & Whitney {before you all start scream NEXT} and let me explain why. I was rooting for Dominique just because she was amusing to watch. There I said it. However, I rooted for Whitney because she's considered the plus sized model and we all know that the plus size models never really make it to the end of the competition. In addition to all of that every time I hear the word plus size I see Jennifer Hudson in my head {no pun intended} not someone the size of Whitney. I consider her to be a more realistic size girl.
UPDATES:
OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Versace!!! Donetella!!! I can't believe it! This is the first time that I've seen a notable designer on here for the finale. Seriously... BTW: Someone slap Paulina for her "ham" comment about Whitney.
AND THE WINNER IS: WHITNEY {Realistically, its about damn time and no, this does not count as Tyra's contribution to the "waif like/ heroin chic model" controversy}.

Wanna Make A Statment?
There are a few thing in life that are going to happen and thats exactly why they are predictable. For example, you're defiantely going to grow older, you will more than likely lose at least one boyfriend/ girlfriend... And my favorite, fashion is NEVER going to stay they same. Last years "It-bag"and hottest shoe {with the exception of Louboutins, his shoes are always a must have} is this going to be fall's must-have bauble. On the runways we have seen an explosion of jewelry of the extravagant sort. Statement pieces that include hexagon mirror crystals with meshed net, enamel colored curls and big bright horticulture bracelets. Some cute that remind you of Alice in Wonderland while others simply say "Proceed with Caution." One of my faves happen to be the whimisical flower bracelet from Marni. Here are some of the looks from the runways...

Take A Bow
Ribbons. Bows. Now matter what you call them, they come in all different shapes and all sizes. Some are cute and dainty, perfect for decoration while others are demand attention as if they are the only thing that matters in a room. You see, now more than ever before I am noticing them trickle down to just about every other facet of life. {other than for the purpose of keeping certain shoes on your feet and decoration}Ever since Lagerfeld created a giant bow on set to showcase his s/s 2008 collection {which detailed stars and stripes forever} bows have been getting bigger, brighter and have become more of a fashion statement than staple. Even world renowned artist Maria Pergay has created a sculptured chair in the shape of the bow.

Hah! Hah! Lego's Still ROCK!!!
I think I might have been the only person to ask for a set of brand spankin' new Lego's when I was in the 11th grade. In fact, my mother had looked at me like I had down right lost my ever lovin mind. But ah, yes, there was a method to my madness. Little did I know the very fact that I had played with those techni-colored blocks for over a decade would play a role in the way I view fashion. {I know, what could hard little blocks have to do with fashion} To prove my point, last year, when everyone thought Beyonce hadn't quite got it right with Balenciaga's infamous "Lego-themed" shoe {BTW: I found out that its called a 'cage' shoe which had four editions} I might have been the only screaming, "OMFG!!! those are so cute." Getting to my point, don't diss Lego's my fellow friends, due to their popularity with children and parents constantly injuring themselves on them around the house, those little pieces of plastic inspire more than you would think. Hey if you think I'm the only one that feels this way the lovely folks at Chanel just re-introduced a new lego type shoe.

Guess Who's Influential
Are you still guessing?... Artist Takashi Murakami {who most recently collaborated with Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton}, French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld... AND Karl Lagerfeld! The trio has managed to grab a spot in TIME Magazines 100 Most Influential edition.
All three known for their unique edition to the worlds of fine and fashion. Lagerfeld who has been creating the epitome of style long before the majority of us were born has been hailed for years as a creative genius and of late is using that insight at Chanel {as well as his own respective fashion house}.
"Before Karl, we all looked to couture for inspiration and direction," Zaha Hadid says in the issue. "Now, through his work, fashion originates from the street, the media - anywhere. This has resulted in exciting collections that are provocative and sensual."
Roitfeld, much like Largerfeld, has been known for her sense of style ever since her modeling days. With her at the helm of French Vogue, the magazine has soared to new heights as she utilizes her keen fashion sense as well as the street style that is elegant, yet simple which is known to the streets of Paris.
