Spring Bags In Color

When we talk about Spring we think of vibrant colors. Exciting colors. With the flowers blooming and everything pointing towards that favorite time of the year, Summer. I say bring it on...As much color as I can stand! I say Bravo!, to the Italians, Bravo!, because no one can make a Bag like you!

The genius of Laura Biagiotti shines through in this Purple Flowered Bag with her designers initials.

Cesare Paciotti
This IS a nice bag! Show stoppin red. With it's tassel to the is side and it drawstring closure, this bag is HOT!

Gianfranco Ferre
This is as stylish as it is investment piece. I notice this style of bag is becoming more and more popular. With the tassel off to one side in snakeskin this bag says Yes to spring!

How About A Snake With That Sake?

I have always been a person to mildly flirt with danger. Thats probably because I don't have to courage to go meters about the earth to bungee jump or sky dive. Majority of bugs give me the creeps and let's not even talk about how I react to the mere mention of the word spider {I'm literally shivering now}. But due to my keen sense of animals and reptilian, I seem to love to flirt with snakes, especially the really poisonous ones that can kill a person in a matter of minutes, like long before you get a chance to find the antivenin. Which brings me to my point, while reading the latest issue of Maxim, I happen to come across an article discussing the five most deadliest creatures in North America. At the end of this article, it went in to detail about a cocktail that includes rice wine {or whiskey}, venom... ohh and a previously living snake. Better known as Cobra wine or common referred to as Asian Snake Wine.

As I did some research I learned that this wonderful concoction has long been thought to be an aphrodisiac in Southeast Asian countries, as well as being used for medicinal purposes. {Although I really don't recommend it for drinking or anything else}. The wine can be created several ways, one including putting a live snake in a glass jar along with a smaller snake, usually a tree snake of some sort with the later addition of distilled rice/ grain alcohol. Since, I am an admired of cool things, I might just go buy a bottle from Asian Snake Wine Co or Thailand Unique but I can 100% guarantee you this is something that I will use for show more than tell. Besides, if you have a creepy stalker or spiteful ex, send them a bottle of this five bucks you'll never hear from them again.

Doritos: The Quest

I think I have secretly bought stock in the company. It's the one snack I gotta have! Doritos are engaging consumers once again with Mystery flavors. Last year Doritos launched an all black bag named X-13D that tasted like… wait for it… cheeseburger.
Well this year Doritos has a new black mystery bag out called ”The Quest”.
The package directs consumers to go online if they think they can guess the flavor. The site lets you play a series of puzzles for a chance to win $100,000 in gold (or the cash value).
I say take the gold, it’s a better investment. From what I can tell, players have to solve a series of flash puzzles that aren’t too difficult. The first three people to solve everything will be sent to a secret city for a live event to compete for the $100,000. Hey! Don't hate on my Doritos Man!

Solar Panel Bra

It's able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Charge your cell phone and iPod! AND... It can reduce your carbon footprint on the earth! IT'S THE SOLAR PANEL BRA! {Sorry, I just couldn't resist it} Lingerie maker Triumph International Japan unveiled its environmentally friendly "Solar Power Bra" concept on Wednesday in Tokyo. The green shag colored, high-quality cotton bra features a waist-mounted solar panel that powers a small, chest-mounted electronic billboard or any other electronic device you choose to connect. A pair of reusable drink containers attach to the bra cups, allowing the wearer to reduce consumption of aluminum cans and plastic bottles while increasing bust size. When not in use, the containers can be collapsed and stored in small pockets in the cups {talk about multitasking}. The concept bra will not be in stores anytime soon, said Triumph spokeswoman Yoshiko Masuda, as "people usually can not go outside without wearing clothes over it -But it does send the message of how lingerie could possibly save the planet- and the bra should not be washed or sunned on a rainy day to avoid damaging it." Masuda

Triumph International feels the "Solar Energy Bra" follows the other eco-friendly themed undergarments that include a bra that turns into a reusable shopping bag {good in the event that you left your normal one at home} and one that featured metal chopsticks to promote the use of reusable chopsticks. Triumph feels the concept bra's are a good way to be eco-friendly and promote the use of clean energy within society.

YOU WANNA BE ON TOP?!?! {Dooo-dooo dooo-ooop}

Due to my most recent obsession with Gossip Girl and a slew of other shows that just aren't compatible with one another, I have slacked on my rantings and ravings about ANTM. Honestly, I've only seen four of this cycle's episodes which include two from the very beginning, one from the middle before they went overseas and tonight's {last night's} finale. However, I always get a little emotional because it marks the end and then it's one less thing me and my friends have to debate about next week. Now, from the beginning I was rooting for Dominique & Whitney {before you all start scream NEXT} and let me explain why. I was rooting for Dominique just because she was amusing to watch. There I said it. However, I rooted for Whitney because she's considered the plus sized model and we all know that the plus size models never really make it to the end of the competition. In addition to all of that every time I hear the word plus size I see Jennifer Hudson in my head {no pun intended} not someone the size of Whitney. I consider her to be a more realistic size girl.

UPDATES:

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Versace!!! Donetella!!! I can't believe it! This is the first time that I've seen a notable designer on here for the finale. Seriously... BTW: Someone slap Paulina for her "ham" comment about Whitney.

AND THE WINNER IS: WHITNEY {Realistically, its about damn time and no, this does not count as Tyra's contribution to the "waif like/ heroin chic model" controversy}.

Starbucks Adds “Energy” To Drinks

There’s coffee, there’s espresso, and then there’s “energy” on the menu list of additives to get you powered up at Starbucks. They’ve added the option to enhance the caffeine in their already-stimulated beverages with shots of +Energy, a combination of ginseng, guarana and B vitamins, the same ingredients you find in most energy drinks on the market today.
Want to try it? Just order the “Doubleshot on Ice +Energy” next time you’re going for your afternoon Starbucks pick up! By the way, for those watching their waistlines, a tall with non-fat milk weighs in at a bikini-friendly 70 calories!
If you really like the feeling of caffeine jitters, I suggest a double shot in the dark (coffee with two shots of espresso) +Energy! If I drank the stuff, I' WOULD NEED ONE RIGHT NOW!

Diesel's Denim Gallery Gets A New Addition

Next week kicks off the 2008 New York Design week and Diesel in collaboration with Dutch design firm Moooi and Jaime Hayon {a Spanish artist} are presenting an exhibit called ARROJADOA, which is the Spanish translation for the word audacious but can also be referenced to a cactus that's identifiable by its vertical stacked elements. The installation focuses on totem sculptures composed with specific functions, like stools, tables, mirrors, and trays. Each element is made of different colors, materials, and finishes.

Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Diesel says, "At the Diesel Denim Gallery we look to support art that makes you think. Whether the art it is explosive, controversial, or inspiring Diesel holds no boundaries when collaborating with artists." Sebastien Agneessens, curator at the Diesel Denim Gallery store says, "Working together with Diesel, Moooi, Jaime Hayon and publisher Die Gestalten Verlag is more than a privilege, it is a unique chance. This international creative quartet tirelessly showcases design to our amused eyes, sharing with us their playful, sometimes ironic vision of the world and fostering inspired collaborations."

The NYC installation will open to the public on May 19th, from 7pm-9pm and will coincide with the release of Jaime Hayon Works, the first monograph of the artist, to be released by Berlin-based publisher Die Gestalten Verlag.

Interesting Tid-Bits:
Jaime Hayon, a true rising star in the international creative scene, embodies a new type of creative Renaissance man who can use his unique stylistic language across various areas of media with his interdisciplinary approach and extraordinary talent. Born in Madrid in 1974, Hayon was trained as an industrial designer and worked as a researcher in Fabrica, Benetton's communication group. In 2004 he started his career and has kept his hands full of eclectic projects. Being a multi-faceted creator, Jaime's work has developed in various areas: from curatorial roles, to those of an artist, to that of a designer.

Moooi leads in the understanding of culture, human needs and technology by creating the most successful and innovative designs through collaborations with international artists and designers such as Ross Lovegrove, Front, Studio Job and Jasper Morrison.

The Diesel Denim Gallery (DDG) is a concept store positioned between retail spaces and art galleries. Located in New York (68 Greene Street) and Tokyo, DDG links contemporary art to the DDG collection. The collection consists of limited-edition wearable works of art. Diesel also continues to support the arts worldwide through its Diesel Wall project, an art competition dedicated to you
ng artists and designers in which their original work is presented on monumental, freestanding vertical walls in the center of the world's most important cities.

Google To Launch Friend Connect

Google announced they will launch Friend Connect, an exciting new service that will allow any site to be turned into a social network, absolutely free. Essentially, it will turn the internet one huge, universal social profile.
Google wanted to tap into the hundreds of million of people using social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, but instead of launching a competing site, they launched the service which turns the internet itself into one humongous social networking platform which can be used by anyone, free of charge.
“Using Google’s new Friend Connect product, any Web page, whether it is devoted to curling or pizza or a folk singer, can allow visitors to make and connect with other ‘friends’ who visit that site,” the Washington Post explains. “Like any major social network today, any Web page using Friend Connect could easily present to each user the names and pictures of friends and potential friends. Those people could then post messages to one another.”
This could change everything, and Google loves that about it.
“We’re in the middle of a huge change,” says David Glazer, an engineering director working on Google Friend Connect. “Wherever people go on the Web, they want to have their friends with them, and this makes it possible.”

" Every day is a new day of learning. We can excel and exceed our own standards by consistently upgrading our outlook & attitude towards those around us. Our position, our power, our status... nothing is permanent. What will remain in fond memories of those around us is not the altitude of our achievements, but our attitude, acts of kindness, and consideration towards others."--- CV Varghese
