Wait A Minute!

I know I was suppose to write about something else (I'll write that tomorrow) but do you see these red shoes! Oh!, My!, Gosh! By none other than Christian Louboutin. Does the man ever rest? Forgive me if you've seen them before. This is my very first time and as usual I'm in Love! Billed as "A fabulous boudoir-inspired look from Christian Louboutin for spring. In a comfortable heel height, the "Rosazissimo" is a chic addition to your evening wardrobe." CL I AM MORE THAN IN LOVE! Oh, they are available at: Christian Louboutin, and Neiman Marcus. They come in red and black.

To satisfy my flair for the unusual or rather different I took a look at these earrings. "For a super luxe eveningwear look, you'll need little more than these exquisite, ethnic-inspired, Celestina, "Dawala Multi Hooped Earrings" and a simple LBD. Made from a vivid 14 karat yellow gold these are a statement accessory to reserve for special occasions. A truly wonderful gift idea. Earring drop measures approximately 2 inches / 6cms. For pierced ears only." Found at Net-a-Porter.

How elegant is this? With the sophistication of neutrals and the grace of draped satin jersey, this dress makes for a beautifully modern cocktail look. It reminds me of a dress I had a couple of years ago. It is simply stunning on. By La Petite Sxxxx, their "Corsage Cocktail Dress." Found it on Net-A-Porter.

Animated Fashion Icons - Karl Lagerfeld in Grand Theft Auto

Just a note....

The much anticipated fourth installment of Grand Theft Auto, due out 29th April, features non-other than fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.
The larger than life fashion guru features as part of the game’s soundtrack, where he plays as one of the radio DJs at K109 The Studio station.
Catwalk Queen reports that, “Lagerfeld didn’t hesitate to star in the game’s forthcoming edition, after he was introduced to them via friend Daphne Guinness.”
Lagerfeld said, “I prefer to be in a video than to play with it. I would love to be a very nasty, politically incorrect character.”

Beat Boxin & Bee-Boppin

"The way we get loose, we move our shoulders. Forward. Heads Back. Get in control like Janet Jack." In a world totally immersed with Ob-illary {Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton} and the possible threat of a recession, now really isn't the time to be uber extravagant and splurge on anything. Well if we are headed towards a recession it likely that we will turn to our music to get us through. So why is it we've spent so much time customizing our coveted iPods {which have taken over the world BTW} and not anything else that comes with them? Content are we with the standard white ear buds that come inside the package and the white cloth case. Since we spent the time to say whether we want a Nano or Touch, I feel that would should take the time and say, "Can I get Studded headphones with that, oh and that fly case too?"

Welcome to the world according to Lexie H :)

Just Gotta Have "Em!"

You know the pair of shoes you just gotta have? The ones you saw who-knows-where that just won't get out of your head. You know the ones you were describing to your girlfriend but you couldn't get it right so you going to have to take her to see them? The ones that just might be worth being late on the lease for. Here are four pair that I just can't get out of my mind. I saw them only yesterday but they are still with me. I meditated and after I got Zen I knew I had to get these shoes!

I think I have gone to heaven three times! It was like the celestial choir started singing and I could hear someone say, "This is your shoe. The two of you were meant to be together."

Now we all have got a pair of shoes that you just lose your cool about. I feel like my neighbors little boy did when he just laid down in the middle of the floor and said, "I WANT IT!, I WANT IT!, I WANT IT!" And I want it now!

By: Michael Kors
Shoe Name: "Naughty Patent Sandal"

Available at: Michael Kors, Foot Candy, Neiman Marcus

Now this IS NOT your ordinary shoe. This is a shoe that I'd keep under lock and key! For me only! NOT MY PROBLEM---is what I'd be telling anybody close to me with an excuse to borrow my shoes!

The shoe, the shoe THE SHOE! Sexy and stylish. (Don't want to ruin this one with too many words!)

Perfect Spring/ Summer Nail Hues

{SNEAK PEAK ALERT}

They're at it again. {And you thought they wouldn't be} MAC is back with a new hott fire collection coming out in May. The collection will be called Neo Sci Fi, but that's not why I am bringing this up right now. It's the time of year when everyone is dumping their Chanel Blue Satin and Dior Midnight Poison & Poison Blue shades for something a little more lighthearted. Something geared a little more towards the birth of renewal, translation, Spring. Ironically, the MAC powerhouse has the perfect prescription. All four nail colors that will be featured in the Neo Sci Fi collection are perfect for spring {and summer}

The Four Colors Are:
  • Phosphor {Bumblebee Yellow}
  • Neon 8 {Orange with Orange Pearl}
  • Plasma Blu {Turquoise Blue with White Pearl}
  • Metalist {Brown with White Pearl}

However, I understand that sometimes waiting a whole month for something hot to hit the shelves in store can be a bit too much too bear. So in light of that, here are some alternatives until the funky flyy colors hit:

Opi Nail Color in DS Jewel (Pictured Left) & DS Treasure
Nars in Domiva
Sephora Brand Nail Polish in Iridescent Rosy Copper

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Marine Scene (Pictured Left) and Crushed Frost
Sephora Nail Lacquer in Mangue, Curacoa, Mrytelle

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren's Spring 2008 Collection, a campaign was created to compliment the preppy-chic look that’s taking over the fashion world by storm. To raise intrigue over the collection, the fashion house has released a series of how-to videos, such as How to Tie a Bow Tie, How to Layer, and How to Cuff your Pants. They’ve even launched their own Rugby video channel on YouTube.
RL offers both men and women’s wear, the pieces bringing to mind images of private schools and riding gear. For the men, the palette is toned down a little, but for the ladies, the more vibrant, the better!
Joining designers like Andre 3000, whose new line Benjamin Bixby mixes the quirky yet put-together, Ralph Lauren’s collection includes tailored pieces like shrunken blazers and vests as well as high-waisted trousers (there are a lot of mixed feelings about those!), madras, bow-ties and suspenders.
If you’re ready to channel Annie Hall, then take a browse through the collection and examine the print campaigns to find out how even women can look adorable in menswear inspired looks. Trousers held up by suspenders become Indiana-Jones chic when paired with a pale Fedora. (ralphlauren)

Color Blockin {Part 1}

Everyone has there own sense of style and not one person is exempt from that rule. Some people are so stylish, they can strike out on their own and influence the world to see their personal fashion expression as another person's own. Do I dare consider myself stylish? OF COURSE! Here are a few quick facts about my own personal style. Summed up, I have about three different extremes:

  1. I am extremely detailed {think Givenchy Couture or Elie Saab}
  2. Plain & Simple {sometimes simplicity is genius}
  3. EXTREMELY COLORFUL
It's the later of that list which brings me to my point. A major trend that recurs every season is color. Be it the royal purple of winter or aquamarine blue of summer. Color is something that fashion can not live without. Spring is one of the seasons that gives you a broader paintbrush when it comes to color. When you reflect on seasons past, its the only season where you can incorporate dark colors and those beautiful pastels and neon's. One of this Springs biggest trends happens to be color blocks. Here are some of my faves:

  • Marc Jacobs Sailboat Blouse available @ Bloomingdale's
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs Color Block Shirt available @ Neiman Marcus & Bloomingdale's
  • Louise Goldin Front Zip One-Shoulder Top available @ Browns Fashion Online
  • Tibi Fleur Shirt available @ Net-A-Porter online and in-store
  • Diane von Furstenberg Alcamo Silk Top @ Net-A-Porter Online
  • T-Bags Off The Shoulder Top @ Net-A-Porter Online and in-store
  • Julie Haus Hilde Top @ Bloomingdale's

CFDA.Vogue Fund & GAP

For ages now it seems like I have been on the quest to find the perfect white blouse. I have ran into ones that are super stiff {you know, like cardboard}, too sheer {50 thread count sheer}, too basic. Well you know where I'm going with this one; all of the shirts were horrible. They really sucked, well up until the CFDA/ Vogue Fund winners teamed up with Gap to produce a line of blouses last year. And alas, my search was over. Perfection. Functionality, femininity and romance all intertwined in the woven threads of 10 white shirts. Doo.Ri, Thakoon, and Rodarte were the masterminds behind the immaculate blouses that were only sold in select Gap flagship stores. All of whom were CFDA Fund winners and quite naturally I wanted to buy every shirt, which were surprisingly affordable.

Let's fast forward a year. Three As Four, Philip Crangie Jewelry, Band Of Outsiders, Michael Bastain and Phillip Lim are the new kids on block. I like this crop of shirts and that's the problem. I just like them and nothing more. There is nothing screaming at me telling me to jump up and go buy them. I'm left feeling somewhat disappointed, almost hurt. It's not all bad news. Philip Lim's shirts are beautiful {AS ALWAYS} and Band of Outsiders has a perfectly tailor-made design. Maybe my style has changed and I'm over reacting.

The Bags

Alrighty then, you know how hard it was trying to pick just a few handbags? I tried to pick a few bags and it was really hard and I hope I never, ever have to do it again! Who the heck am I trying to fool? You KNOW I go crazy over handbags and shoes. I'm limited to 3 so I'll just take you inside the madness of my (abbreviated) spring bag shopping. Focusing on Tote Bags. Remember there are affordable versions to every trend you see. That being said, On with the madness! (Don't worry, we'll revisit the subject later on) We've got tons of different styles: Hobo's, Clutches, Sacs, etc.

The Resurgence of ICEBERG

Going to private school, I really didn't have to worry about wasting a lot of money on clothes. {yea, right} But of course being a teenager I was totally style/ fashion obsessed. Which brings me to my point, one of those clothing labels that I had a big crush on then was Iceberg, more specifically, their Iceberg History line. The company was started in 1962 by Silvo and Giuliana Gerani and is part of the Italian Gilmar group. Their line is synonymously know because of their capability to play with knits and later branching off into garments, perfume and furniture.

As I stated before the company gained a different following when they launched the Iceberg History brand, which featured America's most beloved Saturday Morning cartoons on it's trendy garments. {my ex even had a black Goofy Iceberg sweater} But about two seasons after Iceberg History came and went, the brand as a whole went back into quite seclusion. Not being seen on the runways since 2000

Imagine my surprise while thumbing through my April Harper's Bazaar, I saw a full two page spread. I couldn't contain my excitement. Hopefully the new ad campaign is a sign of good things to come and not another inkling that they are back only to fade away into the night like a thief.
