I Want Chloe... NOW!!!!!

Maybe it's because of the cool color/ pattern combo's that she uses. Maybe it's because she reminds me of Clueless meets Headbanger's Ball OR Maybe it's because when I saw the new cover for NYLON's beauty issue, out on newsstands next week, I thought back to my days in private school and my uniform skirt that looked just like the plaid Chloë Sevigny shirt. I guess that's why she's my idol, everything is so cool, hip and fresh {I forgot to mention colorful}. When I read my mag, I found out that every single item was from the respective labels of Chloë Sevigny and Chloé {sweet, no gallery searching for me}. Oh and if that's not enough for you, these three ladies will also be the new faces for the new Chloé perfume set to debut this summer. Now, how cool is that?

P.S.: Check out the History of the Derriere article in NYLON this month

My favorite quote about this: "Just to recap, that's Chloë for Chloé, with the other Chloé girls, all wearing Chloé. Try saying that five times fast."- Kendall Herbst (The Cut, New York Magazine)

The Edge Phone

Just guessing, but all you fashionita's out there are going to want this phone! The "Edge" The name has nothing to do with data speed. In fact we don’t even know what this phone is capable of because as with all fashion phones, looks rein supreme and the Edge phone makes sure you notice with its glowing glass keyboard. Designed by Chris Owens, this little sleek phone with it's glass sliding keyboard is the talk of the town. To answer an incoming call, slide the glass keyboard out. An embedded LED illuminates the etched numbers via refraction creating a glowing effect. The only visible lines is the microphone wiring which designer Chris Owens has cleverly disguised as a keyboard border. You can learn more about how this phone came into being by clicking here: http://www.ocell.net/. When you get there just click on the section that says Design Portfolio, then click Edge. But Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone, because it's not even on Nokia's website yet! You can also click on the following link for a demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6539BoCeys

Celebrate Spring, New Life, New Fashion!

Wheewww! Whooooo! The date on my calendar says it's the 2oth of March. That means, it's the first day of SPRING and if that don't get you out of the winter blahs I don't know what will. There are 7 Essential items that will be the cornerstone of your wardrobe this season.

  1. Trench Coat---Time to ditch that winter coat and slip into something a little lighter.
  2. Jacket---A light, stylish jacket that you can wear with either a skirt or pants.
  3. Blouse---You always need a good blouse whether it's colorful or plain white.

  4. Pants---This season it's wide legged pants. They can be denim or any other fabric.

  5. Dress---You always need a good dress. Lot's of color this season.
  6. Shoes---Do we really need to discuss this one?

  7. Bags/Purses---No particular excuse necessary.
One of the brightest trench coats is by Alberta Ferretti, it's white, a little bit traditional. It's available at e-luxury. I looked at a trench coat by Elie Tahari at Saks Fifth Avenue, it's traditional with some flare and is a surprising color: yellow. There's also a "Full Length Trench Coat" at Spiegel it comes in Heather Gray, Black, Khaki, and Navy. Jacket's come in all shapes and colors this season however there is one by Christian Dior, the "Flared Aina Jacket," that is classical, kind of sporty and there are sooo many ways you can wear this jacket. It's available at e-luxury and on the Christian Dior site. Anthropologie has a cute little jacket called the "'Melilla Jacket." It is simply adorable, but you've got to see it on a model otherwise you might miss this one. Macy's has a fun little jacket the "Style & Co. Denium Swing Jacket" it's made so that you can wear anything and everything with it. The blouses are short, with bubble sleeves, colorful and cute. My selections are "The Veronica Cotton Shirt" from The USA French Connection, available at their site. Next is Jean Paul Gaultier's "Off The Shoulder Blouse." This shirt is really elegant but you could not wear it to the office. (Available at Nordstrom) Victoria's Secret comes up with a winner their white "Ruffle front Shirt," by Pixie Hopkins. That's available on their site. Pants are extraordinary this season they are wide legged, slim legged and even leggins. Let's start with Ralph Lauren's Blue Label, "Hutch Linen Pant." I was hooked from the moment I saw these. Available at Ralph Lauren. Next we have the "Super Flare In Los Angeles Dark" jean by 7 For All Mankind. Available at 7 For All Mankind. D & G Dolce and Gabbana's "Stretch Cotton Corded Pants." Very chic. Now dresses are always a topic of my conversation. The "Trusha Ruffle Dress," by Ralph Lauren is a knock out. This Sue Wong Silk Trapeez Dress (available at Nordstrom) is a a great look too. Bebe's "Wild Girl One' dress will take you from day, worn over some pants to night, worn by itself. Spring & shoes, where do we start? Let's start with the art work of Christian Louboutin his "Leather Platform Sandal" is a must have for this season. I like the green,"Satin Buckled Sandal" and the Monolo Blanik "Strappy Sandal" too. The Christian Louboutin's and the Monolo Blanik's are available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Nieman Marcus. The handbags/purses are beautiful too. I like the Christian Dior bag named "The Jazz Club," it comes in either black or white. (available at Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus)Longchamp of Paris--well you'll have to take a look at their collection because I couldn't pick just one bag! Nine West's "Gain Medium Satchel" is cute for spring too. Well there you have it my guide to the must-haves for spring. Have A Happy Spring!

Fierce Pants Suit

Why don't you wear pants more often? It is the question I get from so many people who have time to be "all-up-in-mine." It's okay though because you will find mostly dresses, skirts and beautiful blouses and other tops in my closet. I guess I will attempt to answer that question. A. I don't wear pants more often because I simply got use to wearing skirts and dresses. B. I'll make an attempt to break the habit right now, right here, today! C. I want you to know that I reserve the RIGHT TO WEAR SKIRTS AND DRESSES and anything else I want to! D. I'd like to thank all of those inquiring minds for giving me an excuse to shop! (For Real!) This Brown pants suit available at Banana Republic is pictured here and consist of a Monogrammed 3/4 sleeve blazer, a halter vest, and Monogram textured Wide-Legged Pants. I think I can rock that. Maybe I'll get some jeans from 7 For All Man Kind.

My Friend

A friend of mine is wonderful, knee-slappin funny, cares deeply about animals, cares about other people, will tell you the truth in a moment and is artful in delivering her opinion, isn't stuffy but she's inspirational, doesn't hold back either. I could go on and on describing this person to you simply because this person has been a God Send to me. Oh, I am a better person for this person. I wake up now and I am truly happy, just being who I am. I see the world much differently now, everything and I mean everything has life in it. This person help me to SEE....Life will always bring me happiness, and peace and joy and success if I am will to work towards it. This person also saw me through a time in my life when I did not wish to live because of all the truly unspeakable horrible ....you know "the stuff that had happened to me." This person helped me to SEE for the 1st time in my life. When I truly had my AHA Moment! I laughed, cried, Praised the Lord and then Praise the Lord some more because I had learned in that MOMENT that if I WAS PRESENT JUST FOR THIS MOMENT(THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE).......EVERY MOMENT AFTER THAT MOMENT.......WOULD BE A HAPPY MOMENT. The DECISION to be happy, or whatever was always mine. I hope that you all have many friends like my friend in life. One that is INSPIRED and doesn't mind being INSPIRED. This person is the reason why I sign all my posts "Lovin Life." I SPEAK YOUR NAME, LEXIE, INC.---MAY ALL OF YOUR MOMENTS BE AS BRIGHT AS THIS MOMENT. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE ENLIGHTENED, BRILLIANT, MAGNIFICENT, EXTRAORDINARY, INGENIOUS AND INTELLIGENT.

Funky Y-2-C!!!

Maybe I might be the only person left on the planet that still likes a great graphic t-shirt that has some clever words or a cute design on it. I mean I absolutely fell head-over-heels in love with "It's Happy Bunny" when I first saw it on the mint cans (maybe because somewhere deep down I KNOW I'm a smarta**). Honestly, I feel that if you can't loosen up every once in a while then maybe you should go get an enema. The world is too serious with a possible recession, LA fashion week, etc. Go ahead and take at stab at the up-coming election, express your love for that sweet rock song, feeling liberated about you're recent break-up (I mean after all, you did just give a kid with no childbirth) celebrate it. And it gets even better because you can spread that joy onto your cute little dog too. Besides, no one likes a kill-joy that kills the butterflies.

Want a shirt:

ANNUNCIATE!!!! (For Goodness Sake)

I was shopping earlier today and I asked the clerk for a particular item. But while I was patiently waiting for her return there was a woman behind me that said "I wonder if they carry Dul-say and Ga-banna in this store" (Dolce and Gabbana). Mind you, this isn't the first time I have heard this in stores and it drives me freaking nuts (whew, I feel so much better now). Word of advice ladies (and men) if you have decided to purchase ANYthing from a designer learn how to pronounce the designer's name. Maybe this is because my mother was hard on me when I was younger about how I pronounce different words. But, if you aren't into the label thing (yea, right) then don't worry about it, you're excused. If you wish to be taken seriously in the fashion world, consumer or designer, do yourself a favor and at least sound like you know what you are talking about. For those that innocently have trouble and wish to correct it there is a website and a book that can correct these issues. The Budget Fashionista happens to have a full list of designers, A-Z, and takes you through each name, syllable by syllable so at least you look and sound like (don't worry, I'll keep your secret) you know something about the fashion world. So go to Neiman's or Bergdorf and demand that cute Balenciaga dress properly so the clerk doesn't look at you like you contaminated.

Secret Undiscovered

I finally know where I want to die and be buried (well, not really). But I am thinking about revamping my upcoming vacation and instead of hitting the beaches I might opt for oriental. Well not full-blown, just in Tokyo at the Armani Ginza Spa. Which encompasses entire fifth floor of the eleven-floor Goirgio Armani Tower in the world-famous Ginza District on Tokyo's premier Showa-Dori Avenue (the city's equivalent of NYC's Fifth Ave or L.A.'s Rodeo Dr.) and it offers the perfect escape for those trying to leave behind the stress of urban dwelling and success. The spa compliments itself with gold and beige interior and incorporates Zen elements to complete the visual relaxation. Upon reviewing the spa's menu, you will see numerous options involving obsidian (volcanic rock said to have regenerative properties) that has been imported from the islands of Italy and crushed into powder. If you would like to go for the full services of this uber luxurious spa try the Armani Ceremony. You start off with a cup of green tea to soothe and help you relax. After that, your feet are soaked in obsidian that is hot and liquefied all while your assigned shiatsu master and therapist pinpoint where you have the most stress and tension. Finally, you're guided to the treatment area for three hours massages, exfoliation and re hydration to release that last bit of residual tension that still might be in your body. Only issue with this is that you can't bring everyone home with you. Nor can you bring the scenery or great shopping. For those people that don't want to indulge in the full ceremony can opt just for a simple massage and maybe go to dinner on the tenth floor of the building, maybe to floors one thru four to do some ultra chic shopping. Each floor specializes in a particular department of Armani.

I Gotta Get Glasses!

Ok, I would ordinarily dread this but I get the chance to shop so......What's to dread? For only the second time in my life I am going to have to get glasses. I'm putting that lasik surgery off for at least 6 months. (Maybe my eyes will correct themselves!) In the mean time I'll just continue to take my supplements and wear my........it's hard to say......I'll wear my glasses. On to the shopping! (Actually, I feel so good about this so I'm gonna shop for sunglasses too!) The first selection is Armani's AX119. Their pink, chic, clean and they come in black too. Actually I had to visualize these with a transition lens. (A lens that changes with the light). They're sooo cute. They hold up pretty good. The next pair is by Miu Miu, Model 15DV. I think the tortoise shell looks pretty good. They have a bold modern look to them. This next pair is by Versace I didn't know whether to show you the purple, black or this orange. These are my "Going- out-cause-I-want-to glasses." They are sophisticated, yet modern. All of these glasses can be found at Gooptic, Glasses on the Web, and Frames Direct. I'd say this is a good start for me. I have many more frames pour through. I'm just getting started!
