This Is Fun (Not Really)

I'll admit it, I'm having the hardest time finding some swimwear I like, which is also making me dread my impending vacation. Then I remembered one of my truly guilty pleasures "Gossip Girl." Admit it, all of you have watched that show at least once be it for the fashion or the Cruel Intentions-esque vibe. I remember in the episode "School Lies" when Blair, Serena and their henchmen broke into the school pool, Serena had on this beautiful plunge V-neck swimsuit and Blair wore a preppy red polka dot bikini; then the quest began. A few months later and a lot of research and my quest has come to an end with wonderful results (OK, I admit, I could have been done a LOT sooner). The swimsuits that Serena and Blair wore in that episode have a modern twist on the classic swimsuits from the 1930's. This seems to be the trend this year so I am quite sure that I will be in good company this summer laying poolside with my sunhat. In case I forgot to mention before all you Gossip Girl addicts can expect the show to resume airing in mid-April. However, by that time I would have already snuck into their studio and kidnapped their costume designer then i'll have all of the cool clothes (HA HA HA)!

Timeless Handbags

Okay, I bought my first designer handbag when I was in the 9th grade and I have been in love with well made designer bags every since. It was a blue Gucci , with the monogram, and a red white & blue ribbon in the center, a sort of button with the Gucci label in it, which nobody can seem to believe I bought when I did! (I'm not tellin!, not even the name of the bag!) One Fashionista that I know asked me about that bag and I knew immediately that this person knows her stuff! My next bag was a Coach, black, with a little black coach tag hanging. My next was my absolute favorite, Louis Vuitton. So went my upward love of handbags (started not a moment too soon!) I learned that Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854 and was the hallmark of style and craftmanship. I also learned that it was the creme de la creme, the best of the best when it came to craftmanship. So that's what I'll focus on today. There is something to be said for those individuals who can buy an item today knowing that it will never go out of style. Not only is it satisfying, it makes it easy for you to approach all of your shopping in "investment mode." You should buy all of your clothing, shoes, jewlery, everything from someone who can bring you both style and fashion. And I mean "BRING IT." Let's take a look at some current styles of Louis Vuitton Bags. For Louis Vuitton's Handbag collection: Palemo Pm and Palemo GM are two bags that are classics. In the luggage line Alzier, Bisten and Cotteville are classics. So there you have it, the first three designers that I bought my handbags from way back in ....(I'm still not tellin!) Which were the top 3 designers of the moment and arguably today. Dress Of The Day

Sorry for the delay lovelies,

For the most part majority of the fashionista's out there live in bustling urban metropolises, which led me to our dress of the day. I remember struggling often to find dual purpose, femininity and functionality in clothes that I wore around the office. I am absolutely in love with Diane von Furstenberg's two-toned creation (along with the rest of her collection). The dress is tattooed with multi-purpose functionality. You can wear it to work on a nice spring day, not to mention if you don't have time to run home to change before that date (yes, that one) later on in the evening you can dress this up with a beautifully coordinated clutch. The ensemble is a showstopper, it combines the perfect match of modernism with a hint of classic Hollywood. Of course, you can find this beautiful creation (with the rest of Furstenberg's spring line) at Neiman Marcus and it currently runs for about $398.

Back To Black

It seems like the fall collections of several designers are taking a cue from Amy Winehouse and are heading back to black. I can't help but wonder what has everyone so gloomy? It's as if were going to a state funeral. I understand that it's fall and things must come to an end but so much grey and black is unnerving [can we say baaa-oooring]. But ahh yet there is hope,

Herve Leger for Max Azria added an interesting twist of fate. Azria, who acquired the house in 1998 Leger (aka Leroux) has managed to mix his flair with that of the icon. In order to make this 80's trend stand in the new age, he added pearls, pockets of bead, snippets of embroidery, all to give a feel that a modern actress would love to wear to her big premiere. However, simplicity is always genius, amethyst and periwinkle colored bands seemed to work out best for this classic. Lacroix (someone who I'm not often a fan of) somehow has seen the light. He played with color and found a way to perfectly intertwine boring fall black with rich jewel tones and pre-fall hues like royal blue, purple and you even saw some bright pink thrown into the mix. I guess I can finally give Lacroix my thumbs up!!!

Fast Cars, Fast Phones?

Is there something I'm missing?...

Apparently Nokia has teamed up with world-renowed automaker Lamborghini to make a one of a kind sleek and stylish phone. Lamborghini, an italian automaker, has been known for their uber-luxurious fast cars that only the rich could afford for decades. The phone is highly reminiscent of the Apple iPhone with its touchscreen properties and steel shell. However here are a few of the specifics that we found; this is a "new" limited edition Nokia 8800 Sirocco phone that features a stainless steel casing that is etched with Lamborghini's charging bull logo as well as the words "Automobili Lamborghini". The Lamborghini branding doesn't end there, either. The phone also comes with Lambo wallpaper graphics, engine-inspired ringtones and a short video documentary about their cars. "Ball bearings crafted by Lamborghini have been used, allowing a sophisticated slide mechanism" according to the phones manufacturers (so what you're telling me is parts of my car are in my phone). I bet all of the techno-geeks out there are wondering "HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?" Well at the current time we have not tracked down a price, but we do know that Nokia will only produce 500 of these exclusive phones, which will be sold through selected Lamborghini dealerships. This could only mean that you have to buy a car to get the phone. So my fellow fashionista's if you have $150k just lying around, I guess you could "pony-up" for this ultra sleek phone. I can hardly wait for the next fashion phone... (right, gag)

Beautiful Lingerie

Nothing, and I MEAN NOTHING solidifies your confidence, and makes you feel like a W-O-M-A-N more than some luxurious lingerie. Face it ladies, it's what we wear closest to our bodies and it has to be as intelligent, functional, sexy and exotic as we are. Whether you want your lingerie to play peek-a-boo or you want to make a bold statement, it has to be FUNCTIONAL. I present to you here, some of the worlds most beautiful, sexy, pretty, yet functional lingerie. The Autrefois Collection from Ravage of France says: "Yes, I'm sexy and I know IT! But, I'm also very beautiful and intelligent, and did I say powerful? Thank you very much for noticing!" The Ravage Autrefois Collection Corset is a showstopper. It's a combination of intricate laces and ribbons and I'm not even doing it justice with my description of it. The entire line puts you firmly in control of whatever! Just go and see (you'll want to buy it) at: http://www.tangafinelingerie.com/ They have other lines that are just as beautiful, like the Versallies Collection from Argentovivo of Italy and you won't go wrong with any of the absolutely stunning collections from Aubade of France. The Starfish Collection from Cristina Iaia of Italy are drop dead gorgeous. LaPearla is one of the most popular lines of lingerie and you can go to NancyMeyer.com to find all their Collections and a whole host of other Collections too. I'd be tempted to wear some of these designers lingerie all by themselves! All of the designers mentioned above, have taken the art of lingerie design to a new and higher level. That's what designing is all about. Doing it better, making the classy classier, raising the bar so high it's almost impossible to reach. Everyday someone special reaches that bar in lingerie design and we say: as long as it's functional: "Have at it" I'd like to leave you with the thought that, "All that you need, to have all that you want, lies inside you." Welcome Back SPRING!!!!

Hello All

Welcome back to insider info on the latest fashion trends and what's to come in the future. Now here's a concern that were all worried about, SPRING. Everyone is starting to produce their ready-to-wear lines for spring/summer 2008 and the one reccurent theme is color and lots of it. Every year around this time we see the resurgence of bold, bright and magnificent colors much like the normal rebirth of spring. Year before last it was red, then last year was hint of the sea with aquamarine, now this year the "IT" color is YELLOW!!!! Ladies, no need to overhaul your closet and throw out all of your reds, aquas, royal blues, hot vivacious pinks and purples, instead try an infusion of these beautiful colors. Maybe a yellow dress with a posh purple satin Prada purse or a white Doo.Ri blouse with some Blue wide-legged Marc Jacob pants. In addition to this, if you don't feel that yellow is your color, there are more traditional colored pieces for spring such as pastel purple and aqua & sky blue hues. The great things about these colors it that you don't have to be a stylist to come up with a eye popping combination. Do not limit this season's broad color range to just dresses and accessories. be daring and bold by putting together a white blouse and pair of skinny jeans/ pants in hot pink much. If you have an afterwork affair to attend toss your normal purse and opt for a blue sequined clutch. Remember ladies, try and select your pieces carefully that way in a few more years once this trend makes a resurgence all you havew to do is dust these pieces off and when in doubt, mix and match.

**All of the above pieces are featured at NeimanMarcus.com
