Just Wanted To Share This.....

I just had to share this: (Click on the link below)

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/chris_abani_muses_on_humanity.html

One of my absolute favorite things to do on the web is get comfortable and listen to TED. TED is an invitation-only event where the world's leading thinkers and doers gather to find inspiration. It's a talk that Chris Abani gave about HUMANITY on TED. Chris Abani tells stories of people: People standing up to soldiers. People being compassionate. People being human and reclaiming their humanity. It's "ubuntu," he says: the only way for me to be human is for you to reflect my humanity back at me.

In Case You Missed It...

Madame Carla Bruni-Sarkozy sat down with and up close and candid interview with Barbara Walters that aired on Friday August 1st. Not everyone was able to or wanted to skip that date and catch the interview. For those of you that have been hiding under a rock, Carla Bruni recently married France's President Sarkozy after three months of a whirlwind romance. Then if that weren't enough, she took The Queen and London by storm when she sat in with the royals decked out in one of the most fabulous Prada-designed wardrobe's I've seen in the 21st century. Bruni who makes no qualms about her past {which includes the likes of Mick Jagger} mentions that "it was love at first sight" when she met Nicolas Sarkozy. You can view the full interview and watch video clips here.

Yeah!, My Ankle's Gone Down

You know how I nearly got hooked on Vicodin & Tylenol and had to pop anti inflammatories like they were candy? Well let me say that I had a big ole brain fart because I just said forget it all. The pharmaceuticals weren't doing me any good. I mean I'd take the vicodin and the anti-inflammatory and basically I wound up high with a little bit of relief. Then I said I was going to go to Dr. Schulze (A Natropath) and see what he suggested. Well on my way I found out about these foot patches called Herbal Patches Plus. Being curious, I decided to spend some time on the website and eventually decided to order. I was thinking I could use whatever herbal soak I learned of by night and the patch by day. Then I remembered hearing something about foot patches not working, I think it may have been on a news magazine or something, but I decided to give this a try anyway. Reading the website, I was being educated on why my ankle might be swollen, reflexology, frankly speaking I just wanted something that worked! I tried them and they worked. Today, I can say that I'm so glad I did because I really don't think I could've gone on another 2 weeks like that. I'm near 100% now so I'll be shopping for shoes, boots and whatever else. Thank you all for being so patient with me and if you hear of someone with swollen limbs, you can tell them about Herbal Patches Plus, a tip straight from me to you.

Technical F@%&ing Issues!!!

I normally don't use my blog for rants and raves of my daily life, but this is a tad ridiculous. First, I would like to apologize for my absence from the blogosphere lately. My computers have been totally f'd up! It all started with a virus on my personal computer about a week ago {which took another week to get fixed}. Everything on my personal laptop was hard to work with. They said that the virus pretty much messed up anything that used JavaScript- just so you all know, JavaScript affects damn near everything on your PC- so I was unable to pull up certain areas of webpages, let alone my blog or email {thank GOD for Blackberry}. Then Sunday rolls around and I'm excited because I can post normally again. And then, the internet goes out! {At this point, you can predict that I was pulling my hair out} I call our interent provider and we try to fix it to no avail. Then I wake up Monday and discuss things with another rep and we finally get it fixed late Monday. Oh and now it's Tuesday morning and I just got a phone call that my best friend's labor has to be induced {literally just got the phone call while typing this isht}... I will be back my loves.

Retail Theraphy

The ankle saga goes on...and on...and on. In a minute I'm going to literally hop on a plane, go to Tibet, hire a Spiritual Master so I can heal all that may me bugging the heck out of me including my ankle. I wish I could relate the explanation that my doctor gave me. It was quite hilarious because when she got through talking I said, "In other words, you don't know what the heck is wrong with my ankle." To which she replied a simple, "Yes." Thus she added to my neat little collection of anti-inflammatories and Tylenol 300s and Vicodin. Now I'm going to go Dr. Schulze's website, ask him a few questions, list all of my symptoms and walla---he'll be able to direct me in what to do. Which is what I should have done in the first place. While I'm at it I'm going to ask him what I need to do to flush all this Tylenol, Anti-inflammatories, and Vicodin out of my system. Because while it was a nice little trip from reality, it didn't do anything for my ankle! In the meantime, for the sake of not getting me started on Doctors, I'll just continue to ride this one out and prescribe some retail therapy for myself. Starting with shoes of course. Go to: Casadei and Gina they are providing my much needed session. "See Doc, I was thinking about these Boots by Gina when all of a sudden I saw these pumps by Casadei,"momentarily all the pain will go away, now Gina, and Casadei---that's what I call some serious therapy.
Please bear with me, I'll be back to my regular self soon!

It's A Thief In The Night To Come And Grab You...

As I mentioned earlier this week, the world was anxiously anticipating the arrival of Rihanna's video of her Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded album entitled "Disturbia." The video is finally here and as from the pictures I featured earlier, you can tell the video is very dark. Upon viewing the video, you take a walk into a creepy four minute thriller in which RiRi dons an orange wig and white contacts all the way to a black blazer with a Victorian fan. Oh and of course you get to see her go crazy as she is locked in a cramped room while shackled in a chair. The video reminds me of Thirteen Ghosts, as well as other thrillers. Take a look below:
