Edible Dishes - Biodegradable Picnic Ware

Thinking Green?

The perfect cutlery for nature lovers, this four-piece set is made from 100% biodegradable cassava. The set comprises cassava plates, bowls and cups plus wooden spoons, forks and knives. The crockery is re-usable if washed with care, but will disintegrate within a week if left standing in water, or decompose in a few months if left on a compost pile. And if you are really keen on disposing it, the Picnic ware is edible too as it is made of cassava.

Retro Magazine Clutches

The return of retro continues to be strong in the fashion industry, and it’s exciting to see old styles make themselves available for purchase again. One of the most delicious comebacks is that of the 1970s Magazine Clutch!
They’re plastic-coated and made to look like folded magazines. There’s a good chance you’d actually be able to fool some people into thinking you were carrying a copy of Vogue, and not your precious wallet, keys and iPhone. The clasp at the top of the bag, along with the sealed sides, keep your content safe and secure, while letting you display your sartorial savvy.
A chic vintage fashion cover is the best way to flaunt your impeccable flare for knowing how to revive a good thing!
A bunch of designers have recreated these bags, including Patricia Field, an American Academy Award-nominated fashion designer and the costume director of Sex and the City, among other Hollywood projects.

Branded TV Shows-Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy TV is the new online television station launched by Tommy Hilfiger and Sony BMG.
When I read first the news, I thought “Well, well, well, how much of a brand worshipper do you have to be in order to watch TV created by your favourite brand?” But after that, I realized that it could be a great idea.
So why Tommy TV? Because the web TV station is an extension to Hilfiger Sessions which features high profile artists playing in selected venues around the world.
Tommy TV features live recordings from the Hilfiger Sessions as well as interviews and backstage materials with the featured stars. As CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Fred Gehring says, music and fashion go hand in hand.
When you check out the new website, you will see that the artist selection is quite impressive. Fans will have a wide choice which will reinforce the brand appeal to younger buyers as well as adults.
They’re serious about this music business as the line up contains DJ Krush, Faithless, Good Charlotte, Incubus, INXS but also Michael Jackson or Luther Vandross!

It Doens't Have To Look Organic?

**Zooey and Love & Eight "Think Green Be Cool" Hoodie made of Bamboo and Cotton

It's one thing to change all of the light bulbs in the house to those really cute swirly ones that save a tons of energy {by changing one you can save $61 and 812lbs of CO2 emissions annually}, but when you start asking fashionistas and fashionisto's alike to start giving up their Marc Jacobs and Louboutins you're crossing into totally new territory. Sort of like asking the jock in the locker room to quit being a jock type territory. Which got me to thinking, all of the organic and eco-friendly clothing that I have seen in the past years makes me want to change everything in my house and refrigerator to eco-friendly just so I can keep my compulsive shopping habit at Neimans with their plethora of leather pumps, in-organically dyed dresses and pure baby-soft cotton. So I took upon the task of finding clothing that is not only stylish but sustainable and wearable. Because as we have seen, just because it's organic and sustainable doesn't necessarily means its wearable.

"Successful Living" From Diesel

Diesel, has launched a new home line called Successful Living from Diesel.
The collection, “Is built around a rock ‘n’ roll and casual living concept, which incorporates Diesel’s trademark style and attitude,” the press release says.
“All the iconic brand’s core values - its rebelliousness, irony and irreverence! - have been translated into a new textile collection characterized by innovative, creative design, yet timeless vintage appeal, combined with an ultra-modern and quirky twist.”
If they apply similar viral marketing tactics to their home collection as they have to their fashion campaigns, there’s no doubt the line will be a tremendous success.
The line was launched this week after an ultra hip party at Salone Del Mobile, the Diesel penthouse which overlooks Milan. The hotspot was decked out in ultra funky decor while simultaneously showcasing the fabulous new Successful Living collection.
After that event, the party moved to the ‘Special kubik Club,’ a “unique party project” (not just a party, it’s a project!) organized by Balestra Berlin, Modulorbeat and light designer Andreas Barthelmes.
“Plastic tanks, illuminated in different colours, moved in synch to music,” the press release says. “Full to capacity, the party saw guests mingling with Renzo Rosso - President and Founder of Diesel - with entertainment stars, the world’s fashionistas and top fashion press that included Pierre Casiraghi, Francesca Versace, Karim Rashid, Fabio Novembre and Elisabetta Canalis. Music was provided by DJ’s Stefano Fontana & Alex Gopher and was the perfect backdrop for an evening of stylish fun.”

PSP Phone Hacks

Listen up all Bff's, Wives, and Significant others (you'll know before he does!).........Didn't we just know it would be just a matter of time? Nearly every loyal fan of the PSP would have heard about the rumours and even seen some of the concept photos of the highly anticipated PSP Phone Mobile. However hackers have gone overdrive beforehand and have developed a software which, once installed uses the inbuilt Wifi access of the PSP to allow you to make calls using online Voice over IP services such as Skype. The software code named “Furikup” (named after a geeky protocol joke according to the creators) will allow PSP Slim as well as the now so called PSP Fat users to call any other phone using Voip. Apart from phone calls the software will soon allow even video confrencing.
The software is pretty much available freely on the net… but I guess I am not allowed to tell where! Now of course, you know the drill, you can do a google search or more specifically type in phone software for Psp in "Ask," and it will take where you need to be.

Think You Can Impress Giorgio?

Jealous much? Well you might be soon. Signore Armani is looking for the next Mondino to design, create and execute a television ad campaign for the Emporio Fragrances line. He wants would-be directors with massive creative skill that are fresh faces to apply.

The search amounts from Emporio Fragrances ten year anniversary. He would like to invite directors in the US, UK, Italy, France and Germany to enter the contest. A total of ten finalist will be chosen to go before the legendary Armani, who will also choose the winner. Mind you, he is no sleeper in the cinema world {Armani supports Scorsese's World Cinema Foundation as well}.

I advise everyone to take a look at the site, even if you decide not to enter the contest. I'm quite sure you will see some enthusiastic and budding talent on the horizon, maybe even the next Spielberg. You can view more information at www.emporioarmaniparfums.com/contest. Once at the site, users will be able to vote for their favorite clips which will be taken into account when it's time for judging.

Earth Day

A lot of people are reflecting on contributions they can make to create a greener planet with Earth Day. One of the simplest things people can do is to select organic when purchasing consumer goods, and that doesn’t just pertain to food, although that’s mostly what this piece highlights.
If you have the option, it’s always best to buy locally in order to offset carbon emissions as well as support local farmers. With regard to food, it helps you to eat in season as well, a concept many modern nutrients endorse.
Be aware too of packaging; avoid it where possible, but when there’s no choice, try to select things that have been packaged in biodegradable or recycled materials.
Try composting. It's good for the earth and you'll be so surprised just how much of your money you WON'T be wasting. Join a river, lake or ocean cleanup effort. The waterways can get so pulleted. Think about the waterways like they're natures fish tank. Now do you really want to leave someones dirty diaper in there? No, I didn't think so. Pick it up when you see it and throw it away. We know you didn't discard every beer can, plastic pop bottle, and every other form of human waste imaginable but PLEASE won't you be your RESPONSIBLE SELF and pick it up anyway and dispose of it properly? Try to leave things not only like they were when you came along, but better than they were before you came along. It was really an unspoken rule when I grew up. Be kind to mother earth and she will be kind to you. It's really about RAISING AWARENESS. As with anything once we bring our AWARENESS to the situation we can change the situation for the better. It's all about making everyday a "HAPPY EARTH DAY!"

VES-PA To Work (Or Bike)

As seen yesterday, The F*Word has dedicated a whole week to Earth Day. By us being uber nerdy, tree-hugging, earth freaks and all; we wanted to show everyone out there how to be fashionable without causing a ton of damage to the earth. Now, the climatic point: Don't you hate getting up every morning, dragging yourself out of bed only to get stuck on the 405 {if you're in LA}, ALL of Manhattan or whatever street that helps you access where you're going a tad bit easier only to have it clogged by tons of other people? There's no denying that spring is here so why not opt for a more earth conscious ride around town. Besides everybody's doing it. {I know, I can dish out the peer pressure}
